Benefits of a Lifeclinic LC300 Automated Blood Pressure Monitor Recently Featured on Daytime Medical Talk Show

Burtonsville, MD (PRWEB) December 16, 2008 -- A Lifeclinic LC300 automated blood pressure monitor was recently featured on the new CBS daytime talk show, The Doctors. The series airs each weekday, delivering up-to-the-minute information from a panel of four practicing medical professionals.

During the October 30th episode, a segment entitled Heart of the Matter, Dr. Travis Stork discussed the anatomy of the human heart and described how the four chambers and valves of the heart work to circulate blood through the body. He explained, "It's important to check your blood pressure regularly, because if your blood pressure is too high, every time your heart beats, it beats under strain." He continued, "We actually have a blood pressure chair here today and it's a great way to check your blood pressure on a regular basis. You can find these at your local CVS or other drug stores."

A volunteer from the audience was selected to take their blood pressure using a Lifeclinic LC300 blood pressure monitor. Her blood pressure was slightly elevated; 133/87. The panel of doctors explained that because the volunteer was on television and likely nervous, it was important to understand that a diagnosis of hypertension is not the result of one reading, rather it's a series of several readings and that people who check their blood pressure at their pharmacy or at home should have it re-checked by their doctor.

Lifeclinic's product line of blood pressure monitors and health stations is designed to meet the needs of a variety of different retail and corporate wellness environments. Lifeclinic's next-generation health stations, the LC500 and LC600, are capable of measuring blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, body mass index, body composition, and blood oxygen as well as downloading readings from glucose meters, pedometers and other devices. These health stations have an interactive touch screen interface and may be Internet-connected to allow users to save and view readings at Lifeclinic.com or other Web sites such as Microsoft's HealthVault and to transfer individual readings to wellness/disease management databases.
