Expertise ensures safe mezzanines built for earthquake-prone areas

"Chad's education and experience not only delivers a product that is well made and safe, but he is able to custom configure each piece to a customer's specifications to optimize space and effectiveness," Clark Smith, President Bluff Manufacturing.

Bluff Manufacturing, Inc., a leading provider of material handling and warehouse safety equipment to companies throughout the U.S, Mexico, Canada, Caribbean and South America, recently added Chad Albert as a structural engineer for its mezzanine product line which includes free standing warehouse platforms, conveyor support structures, cantilever rack, metal stairways and ladders. The mezzanine product line is an economical solution for freeing up floor space and expanding storing capacity in facilities and warehouses.

Albert will work with the engineering and sales teams to develop accurate and effective system proposals, increase the quality of the products available in the mezzanine product line, decrease costs, provide technical guidance in designing projects, as well as create engineering documents for fabrication and installation needs. In addition, Albert's expertise as a structural engineer will also be applied to designing mezzanines for buildings in seismic zones that have special requirements to ensure stability and safety during an earthquake.

An accomplished technician and engineer with experience in using AutoCAD to design projects and plans as well as vast knowledge in civil and structural engineering, Albert brings a unique combination of small to large business engineering, design, leadership and customer service experience to Bluff Manufacturing’s already expanding client list and product lines. Albert started his career path as a test technician for Midwest Engineering Services in Michigan and rose quickly in the engineering industry to become a lead engineer for Eagle Group, Ltd. He earned an associate's degree in applied arts and sciences in mechanical drafting from Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan, and finished his studies with a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering from Western Michigan University.

According to Clark Smith, president of Bluff Manufacturing, adding a structural engineer to the mezzanine product line ensures the high standards and quality workmanship for which Bluff is known.

"Chad's education and experience not only delivers a product that is well made and safe, but he is able to custom configure each piece to a customer's specifications to optimize space and effectiveness," comments Smith.
