New Smyrna Beach, FL (PRWEB) March 01, 2013
Earlier this week, city officials in New Smyrna Beach, Florida approved construction plans for a new boating facility just off of Interstate 1. In response to this decision, the staff at Used Boat Trailers announced their support for the plan.
New Smyrna Beach is a small beachside community just south of the bustling Daytona and Port Orange area, with a population of just over 22,000. However, located in the area known as ‘Florida’s Fun Coast’, the city enjoys a steady influx of tourists in the warmer months, which can lead to overcrowding of the waterways. UsedBoatTrailers.com expects the new launch facility to alleviate some of the problems caused by overcrowding.
A large number of people trying to use the same recreation area can lead to myriad problems, and the issues are compounded by lines of vehicles, waiting to lower boats into the water. If the nearby parking for boat trailers runs out, it can be even worse, as boaters clog up the waterways, waiting for their driver to return.
The plan for the new boat launch, which is expected to cost almost $1.29 million, was pitched to the City Commission by Saboungi Construction, and on Tuesday, officials approved the bid. The facility will include two launch ramps, restrooms, and space for over 40 parking spaces and walkways. Construction is set to begin at the end of March.
Being forced to wait in line can put a damper on anyone’s day, but with the approval of New Smyrna Beach’s new boat, city officials hope to avoid ruining any more days spent on the pristine south Florida waterways. UsedBoatTrailers.com expects the plan to succeed, and hopes the new facility encourages more families to get out on the water.
