Reccord made the message crystal clear! He connects not just with your mind, but with your heart

The roar of men cheering is nothing new in the American Airlines stadium in Dallas, Tex. But, Friday night, those cheers were celebrating something far different than the swoosh of a basket, or another winning Mavericks game. Men were on their feet enthusiastically roaring their approval as scores of men ran forward following the riveting message by Promise Keepers featured speaker and evangelist, Bob Reccord, indicating their desire to follow Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
“Reccord made the message crystal clear! He connects not just with your mind, but with your heart,” was one enthusiastic response. Another commented, “He makes you see how relevant Christ is to your everyday life.”
Reccord, who leapt to the floor to pray and meet with men was equally as excited as he recounted some of the stories.
“Four clean cut guys came to me and told me they were all cocaine addicts. They said they had tried everything to kick their habits, and nothing had worked. They didn’t now why they had even come…but that night they came to accept Christ together. As a band of brothers. In fact, So many men responded to the Friday night invitation that the Fire Marshall closed the floor to any more men coming forward. They were they redirected to the Mezzanine floor for “overflow response.” I have never witnessed anything like that before! It is humbling to think that since June, we’ve had the privilege of speaking to nearly 70,000 men, and seen almost 4000 men make some type of commitment to Christ.”
Reccord has served in many different capacities—in the corporate arena, as a senior pastor of several large churches, and most recently, as President of one of the largest missions agencies —heading up the third largest disaster relief efforts in the nation. “But,” says Reccord,” nothing has been more fulfilling have the privilege of proclaiming God’s truth to thousands of men—and watching them responding to God’s invitation. I am so thankful that my friend, Tom Fortson (President of Promise Keepers) has entrusted me with this privilege. I’m excited that the vision is not just for stadium events. On Thursday, we began with a PK rally for about 130 prisoners at one of the penitentiary units for Texas. Between 26 and 30 men accepted Christ when the invitation was given. And what we didn’t know was that the “terror” of the prison had been invited by one of the inmates, but had attacked him and screamed a fowl barrage at him. We were totally unaware that there was a “buzz” that went through the other prisoners when he walked into the gym where we were meeting. And you can imagine the shock that swept through the inmates when he stood to indicate he was accepting Christ!”
And, apparently the decisions aren’t just limited to a specific time in the program.
Omar brought his two teenage sons (Ethan-16, and T. J.-17) to the Promise Keeper event on Friday night. As they drove home later that evening, it became obvious that they both were grappling with the messages they’d heard. Late that night, both boys told their Dad that they wanted to ask Christ into their heart,
Now that is a legacy for a Promise Keeper.
