Bollman Hat Company Celebrates 140 Years of Excellence with a First Ever Commemorative Hat Series
It was one hundred and forty years ago when George Bollman and Isaac Sowers opened a two-story hat factory and started the Bollman Hat Company in the borough of Adamstown in Lancaster County.
To celebrate its 140th year, a men's hat style has been designed representing each of the fifteen decades telling the story and conveying the culture that existed in America from the 1860's to today.
A Limited Edition Series Collection of 140 sets will be produced and sold through the new http://www.bollman140.com website. Each set of hats sold will be numbered and include a signed certificate of authenticity. A story of the style, and why it was relevant to its decade, will accompany each hat in the collection. Each hat will have a unique lining designed for this celebration, and be packed in a special anniversary box.
The collection of hats representing each decade includes:
1860's - Wide Awake
1870's - Fez
1880's - Topper
1890's - Bowler
1900's - Homburg
1910's - Montana Peak

Alexis Biondi, Design Coordinator for the project, said "Putting this collection together was great fun and really educational. I found myself immersed in what was happening during the period of each hat. It completely gives you a perspective on history and the evolution of hat fashion."
Bollman President and CEO, Don Rongione, said "We have always had a heightened awareness of our rich heritage. Our pride and appreciation for the generations of families who devoted their working lives to the Bollman Hat Company will be conveyed through this collection."
