As a professional hypnotherapist, one thing that Peter Hey started to notice with his clients was an implicit questioning about, “Why me? Where did this behavior come from, these negative feelings?” Their inquiries led him to create a small presentation that eventually led to a full-day seminar. From the positive feedback people gave him, Hey had the idea to write a book so that these ideas and concepts would reach a wider audience. And in 2015, when he and his wife resettled in the United States, Hey’s first order of business was to write “Leading Mind: Critical Understandings in the Mastering of Life” (published by Balboa Press).
Drawing from insights gained through a lifetime of study about the mind, his professional certifications, and his experiences and that of other practitioners, Hey presents a model of the human consciousness that explains how one’s mind works, with an emphasis on the mechanisms that manage one’s emotions. It discusses the structures that control one’s behavior, and gives an understanding of the different components of the personality. The book also offers a clear picture of the crucial role emotions play in one’s life, including “how you become who you are and why you direct your destiny in a different direction than intended.” It shows how a person’s parents, upbringing and environment are critical to the building of a positive, resourceful personality.
“This book is not about becoming rich or successful in the traditional sense that Western civilization intends to convince us. There’s nothing wrong with money and great careers. Still, there is more to life than that. This book is about you living your life — the life that you did intend to live before embarking in this physical experience — and how it affects the rest of this planet. Whatever shape it was, you decided. This is not about easy schemes; this is about deeper schemes. Only you will know what your deeper scheme is, and when you have the courage to follow it, then you will have the experience of feeling truly successful,” Hey points out.
“Leading Mind: Critical Understandings in the Mastering of Life” aims to take readers on an introspective journey of their inner world to help them realize they can change their mind to truly lead their life in the direction that is authentically theirs.
