Mighty Groove, know primarily as one of the many Boston Wedding Bands is set to record a new album at Woolly Mammoth studios in Waltham. The album will feature mostly original compositions composed by members of the band. This will be Mighty Groove's first original album, and first studio album. Previous recordings that are available are all taken from live performances.
The group scheduled to record includes many musicians who have performed with Mighty Groove over the past year, including John Red Stevens singing. The rhythm section is comprised of Nick Grondin on guitar, Matt Edwards on bass guitar, and Paul Geresy on drums.
The band has been performing together since February of 2010, and the album is the band's first professional studio recording. The Boston band plans to follow the recording up with a mini tour during the summer. The schedule of the tour is not yet finalized.
