While many all-weather monitors provide robustness at the expense of sound quality, the Bowers & Wilkins Am-1 delivers both with aplomb.

Bowers & Wilkins, the award-winning British loudspeaker company has added to its CI Series with the launch of the Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 Architectural Monitor, the company’s most durable weatherproof speaker yet.

The AM-1 Architectural Monitor from Bowers & Wilkins offers the same high quality sound that Bowers & Wilkins deliver, as standard. But the Bowers & Wilkins AM-1 also offers unprecedented flexibility. While many all-weather monitors provide robustness at the expense of sound quality, the Bowers & Wilkins Am-1 delivers both with aplomb.

This superior outdoor speaker from Bowers & Wilkins can be positioned in either portrait or landscape, to fit any space, indoors or out. Inside, the nuance of the AM-1 can be truly appreciated; and the crystal clear reproduction is unmistakeably Bowers & Wilkins. But outside, this brand new speaker excels, with sound that’s capable of filling even the largest space commandingly.

Previous Bowers & Wilkins weatherproof speakers allowed the user to transport great sound to any outdoor space, but the AM-1 is just at home in an indoor space as it is outside, for true flexibility, and the power to adapt to any situation. Easy installation within any environment, only adds to the possibilities.

Importantly, the AM-1 loudspeaker is as musical as it is flexible. This is a quality example of innovative Bowers & Wilkins engineering. The speaker’s inverted drive unit configuration features a 25mm aluminium-dome tweeter and a 5inch glass-fibre bass/midrange driver, but importantly, here the tweeter is mounted above for the optimal dispersion of sound, even when the speaker is mounted high, in a large space. The speaker uses a rear-mounted auxiliary bass radiator (ABR) for superior bass response in a relatively compact unit.

On the outside, a rust proof aluminium grille and a rigid cabinet made of unique glass-filled plastics provide the AM-1 outdoor speaker’s technical specs with the optimum protection from dust, moisture and UV exposure. As with all Bowers & Wilkins speakers, the AM-1 combines this physical reliability with distinctive visual flair.
