BoxTone, with the LogMeIn Rescue option, further enhances the ability of IT help desk, operations and engineering staff to keep mobile users connected and productive, while reducing the cost of support.

BoxTone(R), the leading provider of proactive Mobile Service Management (MSM) software solutions, today announced that it extended its broad MSM solution to offer existing and new customers additional mobile support and training capabilities for smartphones via LogMeIn Rescue. Now with the LogMeIn option, BoxTone provides enterprises, government agencies and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) rich remote control capabilities for a variety of smartphones including BlackBerry, Nokia Symbian and Windows Mobile.

Mobile IT support staff world-wide already rely on the BoxTone Service Desk Management module to help them resolve most inbound mobile support calls in three minutes or less, while reducing escalations from Level 1 to Levels 2 and 3 by up to 80 percent. Mobile IT administrators at these organizations benefit daily from the proactive alerts to pending mobile service issues generated by the BoxTone Incident Management Module, which can reduce mobile incident mean time to repair (MTTR) by up to 80 percent.

The integration of best-in-breed LogMeIn with BoxTone’s software will further enhance the ability of mobile IT support staff and IT administrators to remotely provide end-user training and help resolve additional end-user issues, leading to even faster employee adoption of mobile devices and applications.

“We are delighted to add best-in-breed remote control and support from LogMeIn to the BoxTone Mobile Service Management solution,” said Brian Reed, Vice President of Products, BoxTone. “BoxTone software already enables enterprise IT administrators and Tier 1 support staff, even with little or no mobility expertise, to solve mobile users’ inbound calls the first time, typically with one click. The LogMeIn Rescue option further enhances the ability of IT help desk, operations and engineering staff to keep mobile users connected and productive, while reducing the cost of support.”

LogMeIn Rescue is used by internal and external IT organizations, major service providers, ISVs and mobile carriers to provide support to their remote users and customers. Requiring no pre-installed software, LogMeIn Rescue creates a quick, secure connection to a mobile device, enabling on-demand, remote training and resolution of technical issues. Such remote sessions can be used to configure settings (e.g. pairing a Bluetooth device) or to train the mobile user on the use of an enterprise application. All sessions can be facilitated by integrated chat. A history of LogMeIn remote control and support sessions are then logged to provide a comprehensive view of an incident for future reference.
