Today, Boyer & Associates, a Minneapolis-based ERP solutions company, and Gladson announced the official “Go-Live” for Gladson’s Microsoft Dynamics SL implementation. This signifies the completion of an important project for both firms.
Gladson, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, is the leading provider of syndicated consumer packaged goods’ product images and provides category management and in-store merchandising solutions to CPG manufacturers and retailers.
Gladson had outgrown their Peachtree- and Excel-based financials systems and was looking for a solution that would both automate existing manual processes and provide a platform for deeper business analysis.
“Gladson had some unique requirements, including complex sales tax and revenue recognition. Our goal was to help them avoid having to re-key orders. Gladson can sometimes have 1,000 ship-to’s for a single line item in a sales order,” said Jack Boyer, president of Boyer & Associates.
“Due to our past success with clients using Avalara’s web services for real-time sales tax computations, we decided to recommend the use of their service. The challenge was that Dynamics SL was the only product that would allow many ship-to’s for each line item but Avalara did not have an interface with the Dynamics SL sales order screen,” Boyer said.
This specific integration between Dynamics SL and Avalara, which Boyer & Associates developed, is a big part of what helped Gladson save time and effort. Previously, it took up to 4 hours to process a single sales order due to the volume on the larger orders. Today, the process often takes less than 15 minutes because sales orders are imported and sales taxes are calculated automatically.
Another benefit of automation and integration is now Gladson does not have to be concerned about keying the order incorrectly, or reconciling the keying differences between what was keyed into Peachtree and what was keyed into Excel.
