On the surface the tragic spill in the Gulf of Mexico has little if anything to do with industries as varied as food processing, pharmaceutical packaging, or winery cleaning. But that is at the surface. Looking deeper, one sees a long-simmering concern about environmental practices within industry coming to a full boil. The utilization of super-heated dry steam vapor is a valuable tool solving both cleaning and sanitation issues as well as environmental ones.

Oil spill prompts environmental soul-searching

On the surface the tragic spill in the Gulf of Mexico has little if anything to do with industries as varied as food processing, pharmaceutical packaging, or winery cleaning. But that is at the surface. The BP oil spill that is, by some accounts, spewing as much as 840,000 gallons and 1.68 million gallons per day into the Gulf of Mexico has ignited anew environmental concerns that were only simmering before. Indeed, The Oklahoman news outlet declared on their website on June 15, 2010 that “Oil spill prompts environmental soul-searching,” and that some fundamental Christians think that cutting back on fossil fuels is the right thing to do.

It is all too apparent that today’s consumer favors products that are made in an environmentally friendly manner and large retailers like Wal-Mart are listening. In fact, Wal-Mart is ahead of the curve in this instance, already having in place its Supplier Sustainability Initiative. Some of the tenets of this initiative include water and waste water management, lowered use of fossil fuels and even shipping containers, like cardboard boxes.

Amerivap Systems has been a pioneer in the dry steam vapor cleaning industry for 20 years. Its line of industrial steam cleaners,Xtreme Steam, and along with available attachments, notably the Houdini conveyor belt cleaner, solves cleaning solutions in any industry that looks to achieve maximum cleaning results while at the same time addressing concerns about Eco-friendly cleaning, and waste water management.

How?

  •     The Xtreme steam lines of cleaners achieve log 3 reduction on harmful pathogens using no chemicals whatsoever.
  •     No chemicals means no chemical expense, no chemical residue, no MSDS tracking.
  •     No chemicals also means no shipping costs associated with chemicals (and the costly consumption of fossil fuels associated with their production), and no cardboard boxes and shipping containers to be disposed of.
  •     Since the Xtreme Steam line dry vapor cleaners use only quarts of water, unlike water-consuming pressure washers, waste water is drastically reduced as are bod5 values, saving on rising water treatment costs.

The tragic spill in the Gulf of Mexico marks and even greater focus on industry and its effect on the environment. Amerivap Systems is committed to delivering Eco-friendly, fully sustainable cleaning solutions to industries as diverse as hotels to food packaging to wineries and breweries.
