Advanced Production Solutions (http://www.APSFulfillment.com), one of the nation’s leading cost-effective fulfillment and integrated direct mail marketing companies, is releasing its expert opinion on data that show consumers are more likely to repurchase from e-retailers and traditional brick-and-mortar firms that use fulfillment firms to ship their unique branded packaging.
“With so many products to choose from, it’s important for brands to develop packaging that makes their products stand out on store shelves. Packing is what a shopper sees, handles, and reads; in fact, packaging is the first impression someone gets of a brand, and it can impact whether they pick it up and buy it,” says Charles Aultman, president of Advanced Production Solutions. “Brand awareness doesn’t start and stop on the store shelf; more and more studies are showing that the same holds true for branded packaging. Unique packaging can raise brand awareness and help with customer loyalty, marketing, and advertising.”
According to one recent survey, more than half (52%) of consumers are likely to make repeat purchases from an online retailer if it ships their orders in premium, unique packaging. Interestingly, customers now expect online orders to be shipped in premium packaging if that same retailer provides branded packing in-store. Just like the products they ship, branded packaging is an excellent advertising tool that can help increase brand awareness and drive customer loyalty. According to the same survey, 90% of all consumers reuse branded packaging; at the same time, 35% of shoppers have discovered a new brand after seeing another customer carrying their packaging in public. The same holds true online: almost 40% of consumers say they would share a picture of an online order on a social media outlet, such as Facebook or Pinterest, if it came in a unique, branded box. “By using unique, brand-specific packaging, retailers can significantly increase their brand’s exposure and opportunity for sales. Brands that target the lucrative 18–25-year-old market could benefit from branded packaging on social media,” Aultman adds. “The experts at Advanced Production Solutions understand that the kind of packaging an online retailer uses can have a significant impact on their business. We also recognize that in order to stand out, businesses need to look beyond using simple brown boxes for shipping their products from fulfillment and direct mail companies.”
