Promotional Products Company Launches Philanthropic Division

The Icebox helps key organizations raise money for charitable causes.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 19, 2007 -- The Icebox, an Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel supplier, has announced the launch of Common Threads, the company's philanthropic division dedicated to assisting key clients with fundraising events for charity.

Through Common Threads, the Icebox provides key organizations with promotional products at no- or low-cost to help with name recognition during charitable events. Recently, Common Threads donated promotional items to the Atlanta Community Food Bank for its annual Hunger Walk campaign, an organization is has long supported. The company's employees also lent their assistance with the event, which raised over $300,000 to support hunger and poverty relief.

Leslie Hamilton, Director of the Hunger Walk/Run for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, says her organization enjoys working with the Icebox on fundraising efforts. "Every year The Icebox gives the Hunger Walk/Run a fresh look with their creative, unique items," she says. "They are so easy to work with and we thank them for their continued support of all our programs at the Food Bank."

Jordy Gamson, president and CEO of The Icebox, is enthusiastic about the company's Common Threads launch. "The Icebox has always felt a special connection with our non-profit friends and customers, and, because we believe in giving back to the community, we decided to launch the Common Threads initiative in order to accomplish this," says Jordy.

The Icebox has long been involved with helping nonprofit organizations, making Common Threads a natural extension of the company's altruistic outreach. Recently, the company was called upon by Campbell's Soup to collaborate on a limited edition t-shirt design for the American Heart Association's nationwide movement, Go Red for Women campaign. Other recipients of the company's altruistic largesse include Prevent Blindness GA and The Lance Armstrong Foundation, among others.

Common Threads will be assisting with a full lineup of charitable events in the coming weeks, including the Georgia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International's event to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank on April 26th and the Lance Armstrong Foundation Golf Tournament on April 23rd. In addition to providing branded apparel and promotional products for the events, The Icebox will have company representatives on hand to help out -- and to play a few rounds of golf for charity.
