Automotive Expert and Car-Talk Host Bobby Likis is launching Breast Cancer Awareness Month on the Car Clinic multi-media network with a "Pink and Green" sweepstakes to spotlight the importance of cancer research and proactive mammograms in accordance with the American Cancer Society guidelines. Joined by Kimberly-Clark’s Block-It® Fabrics and Covercraft as prize providers, Likis explains the “Pink” and “Green”: Pink is for the innovative pink Block-It® NOAH® fabric just introduced to the market from which Covercraft will tailor a custom car, SUV or truck cover; Green is for the $150 VISA card I’m tossing into the prize pack.

Likis created the “Pink and Green” Sweepstakes after he heard about the “Covers for Causes” initiative created by Covercraft, which has pledged to contribute a percentage of all profits from the sales of these products to breast cancer research programs. Reflects Covercraft President, Marty Lichtmann, “Almost everyone I know has been touched by cancer, or knows of someone who has had to battle this horrific disease. Research has made great strides, but needs much more support in the effort to find a cure.” Adds Tony Fedel, Associate Marketing Director for Kimberly-Clark Professional Partnership Products, “This disease touches so many lives, and it is an honor to help support the efforts of research programs searching for a cure.”

Likis - who has been personally affected by the ravages of breast cancer as his wife died from the disease and his 35 year-old daughter is now a two-year survivor – is happy to host the “Pink and Green” sweepstakes to highlight October as the month dedicated to breast cancer awareness, prevention, support and cure. Likis explains, "1 in 8 women in the U.S. will get breast cancer during their lifetimes. The difference in outcomes between my wife's fate and my daughter's good fortune is early detection & focused treatment. I hope the 'Pink and Green' sweeps brings focus to the importance of cancer research and proactive mammograms."

The winners of two “Pink and Green” prize packages – each package sporting a custom pink car cover and $150 VISA card – will be announced live on the Car Clinic globalcast on Saturday, October 27.
