"On Sunday, December 31, 2006, the Breckenridge gondola carried its first passengers to the mountain base". With room for eight, the gondola connects Breckenridge's main parking lot off Main Street, with the ski resort's Peak 7 and 8 base areas. It has improved access to the mountain, by eliminating the need for shuttle transfers and decreasing the transportation time from parking to base to approximately eight minutes. The resort plans to operate the gondola during both winter and summer seasons.
