Bright Kids NYC is pleased to announce the release of a new ERB/WPPSI-IV Practice Test and Preparation Guide.

Bright Kids NYC is pleased to announce the release of a new ERB/WPPSI-IV Practice Test and Preparation Guide as a part of its ERB preparation series. Bright Kids NYC is dedicated to providing students with the tools they need to do well on test day. The Practice Test and Preparation Guide are filled with questions similar to the actual exam, helping to familiarize the student with both content and test-taking skills.

With the ERB's change from the WPPSI-III to the WPPSI-IV, there are a few notable differences that Bright Kids NYC has addressed in these updated publications. The new test structure maintains six of the subtests previously administered from the WPPSI-III. On the Verbal section, Information replaces Word Reasoning, while Coding has been removed from the Nonverbal section in favor of Bug Search. In all, the eight subtests are: Block Design, Information, Matrix Reasoning, Clothing Search, Similarities, Picture Concepts, Vocabulary, and Comprehension.

The ERB/WPPSI-IV Practice Test can be used as a diagnostic tool in order to help parents evaluate their child’s strengths and weaknesses or to familiarize a student with the test format. The Practice Test consists of two books: an Instructions and Scoring Manual and a Stimulus Book. The Stimulus Book includes all of the picture-based questions from the test, organized into each of the eight subtests. It is 115 pages long and color coded to help students and parents recognize each section. The Instructions and Scoring Manual is 102 pages and includes detailed descriptions of the WPPSI-IV assessment and each subtest, as well as how to administer the practice test and how to evaluate the student’s scores. It is similarly color coded to the Stimulus Book so that parents can follow along with the student easily. True to the test itself, the Practice Test also includes blocks and a dauber.

The Bright Kids Preparation Guide for the ERB/WPPSI-IV aims to familiarize students with the types of questions commonly found on the WPPSI-IV test. The Preparation Guide includes over 500 practice items for students to complete, with 35-60 questions per subtest. It is 346 pages long and features detailed instructions on how to use the guide to explore each concept and allow practice in areas the student requires it. Each section is prefaced with information for the parent, as well as effective strategies for the student to keep in mind when solving and answering the following questions. Parents will be able to keep track of the student’s answers and scores with the answer sheets included before each test. The Preparation Guide also includes blocks and a dauber for use during each practice.

To better prepare for the ERB assessment, Bright Kids highly encourages parents to use the ERB/WPPSI-IV Practice Test and the Bright Kids Preparation Guide in conjunction with one another as a package. The Practice Test is designed to evaluate the student’s skills and highlight his or her strengths and weaknesses, as well as familiarize the student with the format of the actual test. The Preparation Guide, on the other hand, is designed to explore each concept in full and offer more in-depth practice for each subtest. The structure of the Practice Test is similar to taking a full-length ERB assessment and the student can largely benefit from using both resources. Most notably, parents can use the Practice Test as a diagnostic and then use the Preparation Guide to target the areas that the student did not perform as well as they would have liked.

For further preparation, Bright Kids is also offering its popular ERB 1-on-1 Bootcamp.
