Brightpearl (http://www.brightpearl.com), cloud software that integrates orders, inventory and customer data across different retail channels, today announced that customers have used its Commerce Acceleration Platform to process over $700 million in gross merchandise value, which has more than doubled year over year. Additionally, it has appointed two key executives to its leadership team: Mark Heath as chief technology officer and Carter Perez as senior vice president of sales in the Americas.

This announcement comes on the heels of news of three new partner integrations, key new hires for Chief Marketing Officer and VP Finance, and $8 million in Series B funding. Brightpearl’s Commerce Acceleration Platform growth milestone is further evidence of the company’s accelerating momentum in providing multi-channel retailers with an easy-to-use, full-featured cloud solution at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.

Mark Heath joins Brightpearl as chief technology officer. He has deep experience in leading engineering teams in the development of innovative cloud-based ecommerce systems. Previously he was vice president of products, XenServer at Citrix Systems. Before Citrix, Mark held senior engineering positions at ByteNight, Truphone and Symbian. Mark holds an MSc in software engineering from the University of Oxford, an MBA from the University of Surrey and an MSc in electronic system design from Cranfield University.

Carter Perez joins Brightpearl as senior vice president of sales in the Americas. He has also held senior sales positions at YouSendIt and BirdDog Solutions. Carter holds a BS/BA from Vanderbilt University.
