Although SSG has been involved with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Holiday program for over 10 years, corporate citizenship has been a top priority in the company’s culture since its founding in 1997.

“We try to focus on giving a lot of our time to a few organizations that many people in the company are passionate about and can rally behind,” CEO Steve Steinheimer said. “Also, if an employee is involved in a service or non-profit organization, we make an effort to help with their projects and initiatives.”

Since its beginning, SSG has been involved with Girls on the Run of DFW Metroplex, a 501(c)3 positive youth development program that combines running and an interactive curriculum to inspire self-respect, community service and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls.

“For over 14 years, SSG has given a lot of time to Girls on the Run,” Steinheimer said. “We sponsor their 5K race and help run other events. We help with fundraising, and recommend and introduce other sponsors. We also allowed them to work in our office space for awhile so they didn’t have to pay rent to have an office.”

SSG has practiced corporate social responsibility though involvement with several other organizations over the past 15 years. These include: Vistage International, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Winners for Life, and North Texas Food Bank.
