Broken Shed Vodka (http://www.brokenshed.com), a super-premium vodka made in New Zealand, is expanding into New York. With a new distribution deal with New York Wine & Spirits, a division of Manhattan Beer, Broken Shed is excited to develop one of the country’s largest markets.

“We are thrilled to be introducing Broken Shed to the New York market. It is obviously a huge market for us to tackle, and we are honored to have partnered with Manhattan Beer as they continue to expand into the spirits category,” said Steve Turner, co-founder of Broken Shed. “We started exporting from New Zealand earlier this year and we have received such a positive response to our smooth taste profile that we have created without using any additives.”

Founded in 2009, Broken Shed Vodka is distilled four times from New Zealand whey (the excess sugar generated from milk production), which has been distilled to the highest standards in New Zealand for over 25 years. Though few vodkas are distilled from whey, it is an excellent natural source for distillation of pure spirit.

Broken Shed Vodka is free of additives and blends two distinct water sources from New Zealand, one from Central Otago on the South Island and the other from East Tamaki on the North Island.
Broken Shed also attributes its smooth taste profile to craft blending and filtering during production. Broken Shed utilizes continuous depth filtering and a custom-designed charcoal filtration process.

“We’re looking for great brands with unique stories to continue our expansion and success in the spirits category,” said Robert Mitchell, General Sales Manager of New York Wine & Spirits, a division of Manhattan Beer. “Broken Shed Vodka is a perfect, natural fit, and we couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to work closer with their team to help grow this very special vodka in New York.”

On the heels of great success in New Zealand, Singapore and the UK, Broken Shed plans to grow systematically in the U.S. Already distributed in Connecticut, Broken Shed plans to enter the California market this Fall.

About Broken Shed Vodka
Broken Shed Vodka is based in Wanaka, a small lake town in the mountains of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Distilled, crafted and bottled in New Zealand, Broken Shed is made without any additives. The award winning vodka was founded in 2009, launched in 2010 in New Zealand, and then launched in the U.S. in June, 2012. Started in a ‘broken’ down old shed on Lake Wanaka where the formula was originally crafted and produced, the (slightly) renovated Shed is now used for tasting events and offices.
