Initial housing counseling services to include budget counseling and financial management workshops. Debt Management Credit Counseling Corp (dmcconline.org), a nonprofit charitable organization (“DMCC”), announced today they have been designated an Approved Housing Counseling Agency by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide Financial Management/Budget Counseling and Financial and Budgeting Workshops. HUD approval demonstrates that DMCC has met certain industry standards and federal guidelines. As part of the budget counseling process, certified credit counselors at DMCC gather information from consumers in order to assist them with the organization of their expenses. DMCC counselors teach the importance of maintaining a budget in order to get out of debt and to sustain financial stability. Counseling is done by phone or in person at the DMCC location; no appointment is necessary.

DMCC’s free Financial and Budgeting Workshops come at a perfect time as consumers are apprehensive about making financial decisions due to the poor state of the U.S. economy. Through these workshops, consumers gain an understanding of where they need to focus in order to either improve their financial situation or maintain their current status, without getting into more debt. DMCC has been offering budget counseling and financial workshops throughout South Florida for over 10 years. Certified credit counselors travel to businesses, community centers, high schools and universities to offer free counseling and education. The DMCC education program is unique in that it is able to accommodate the specific needs of the organization or business hosting the workshops. The free educational materials disseminated by DMCC at each workshop have resulted in these workshops being in high demand.
