Using the CityGrid API, BuildZoom is able to provide over 300k monthly visitors with increased access to user reviews on remodeling contractors

Today, BuildZoom announced the public availability of CityGrid reviews via the CityGrid API. The review data is instantly available to users via

“Increasing the volume of user-generated reviews on is one of our top current priorities,” said David Petersen, Co-Founder of BuildZoom. “The sheer magnitude of our database, which accounts for the largest number of licensed contractors in the US, has compelled us to look for supplemental resources to keep up with increasing consumer demand for information.”

BuildZoom’s recent research findings on how consumers find and evaluate home improvement contractors, has been a motivating factor in expanding their platform to include review data from third parties. According to Petersen, “Although user reviews is not the only piece of the puzzle for consumer, it is one of the most important.”
BuildZoom currently aggregates information on over 2 million licensed home improvement contractors throughout the United States. Each contractor is analyzed by an algorithm that examines a wide variety of consumer-oriented variables that includes client feedback, licensure data, social metrics and project ratings.

Petersen added that BuildZoom will be looking to add information from more data repositories to their core platform in the upcoming months.
