Rehabmart.com, an online e-commerce company that sells rehabilitation and medical supplies, has joined into a distribution partnership with Childrite to offer their special support chair for special needs children to a larger consumer market. The Childrite seat was based on the concept of the Bumbo Baby Seat, and conceived and designed by Wartburg Enterprises headquartered in Conroe, Texas. The Childrite seats are manufactured one at a time, by hand, at their facility in Fort Worth. Wartburg Enterprises was the first company to import the popular Bumbo Baby Seat to the USA market in 2003. The Bumbo had made quite a name for itself among special needs organizations, but the seat was simply too small for older children.
Deeply moved by the hundreds of testimonials from parents and therapists who loved the Bumbo seat, but concerned about what would happen when their children outgrew it, Wartburg Enterprises requested that the manufacturer develop a bigger seat exclusively for special needs children. Because of other products in development, the original makers of the Bumbo could not comply with this request, but they did give Wartburg Enterprises their permission to use the concept of the Bumbo to create their own special needs seat. Designed with input from therapists, the Childrite seat is the only product that Wartburg Enterprises makes.
The Childrite seat features a high back with a wrap around style to provide support for children to help strengthen their trunk muscles, and can provide an alternative, supportive and therapeutic seating option that allows for a greater sense of independence. It can additionally be utilized and integrated into therapy sessions, enhancing positioning and specific exercise. The soft foam seat is comfortable, yet firm enough to provide proper support. “We are thrilled to introduce more consumers to the Childrite Seat from Wartburg Enterprises,” said Hulet Smith, Founder and CEO of Rehabmart. “Compact, durable and completely portable, this therapy chair provides support to help your child sit up on his or her own. The broad hip area and extra wide leg openings make it comfortable and useful for years to come. Wartburg Enterprises has taken great care to insure that this seating solution is soft and comfortable, while remaining sturdy and supportive for all special needs children.”
