Your Story Here LLC Video Biography announces the introduction of the video business biography. Designed to capture the career and business stories of America's retired entrepreneurs and business executives, the video business biography fills a niche long ignored by most custom documentary production companies.

"It's hard to explain a career. But a video business biography can makes the whole subject come alive and accessible to future generations,” says the LA-based Dorfman.

For the entrepreneur or executive who has everything, now comes the video business biography: custom-ordered, TV-quality, video documentaries celebrating a career in business.

Speaking yesterday to one of the country's most successful chapters of SCORE, the small business training and mentoring organization, Your Story Here CEO Jane Shafron said that it was time that America's business men and women recorded the story of their successful careers, and the bumps along the way.

“Business is all consuming when you are running your own company, or are in the full throes of an executive career,” Jane said outside the meeting. “There’s not much time for anything but work. When they retire, many entrepreneurs simply put those experiences aside and move on to the next challenge. But I believe they have a duty to their families and future generations to pass along their wisdom and lessons learned in a video profile of their career,” she said.

Jane Shafron, still in the early stages of her own documentary production business career, was speaking to a meeting of more than 70 volunteer counselors from the celebrated SCORE Chapter 114 office – based in Southern California. Jane had been asked to address the group as a “SCORE Success Story” (Your Story Here Video Biography) and she found herself thinking more and more about the SCORE counselors who had helped her own business double sales in each of its last three years.

“America's retired entrepreneurs know so much. I have learned this first hand. But who ever tells their stories? Many of our most successful business people are first or second generation Americans. They found this to be the land of opportunities made possible through hard work, entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to succeed. They built up their own businesses and in doing so helped build up this country.

“My field is recording stories on video,” Jane continued. “And most of my work centers around personal stories of love and family, ancestors and immigration, and war experiences. But hardly any attention is paid to the guy who went out and built a business and made it a success. And put the bread on the table.

“So I am launching a new service line called the 'video business biography,'” Jane Shafron concluded.

It may be a new idea, but does it have legs?

Tom Patty, former President and Worldwide Account Director of Advertising behemoth Chiat/Day, and highly esteemed SCORE 114 counselor, thinks it does.

“We all have stories to tell,” Tom said. “And those of us who have been in business have a lot to share. Some of our deepest insights about life come from our business experiences so they are well worth recording in a video business biography."

One-time Vice Chairman of Hughes Electronics and satellite communications executive Steve Dorfman agrees. "It's hard to explain a career. But a video business biography can makes the whole subject come alive and accessible to future generations,” says the Los Angeles based Dorfman.

So for the entrepreneur or executive who has everything, they can now pile the business video biography right on top. And more than one of them will be mindful of the words of Winston Churchill who said, "History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it!"
