The Packaging Federation's participation is a great indication of how the Program is incredibly flexible. Different organisations have realised the numerous alternative ways they can use it to deliver benefit for their members and their own organisations

As the ‘over-arching’ trade association for the UK packaging manufacturers, the Packaging Federation is the representative body for firms and other organisations in the UK’s packaging and associated activities sector. The organisation actively promotes the economic importance of the industry, the products it produces and the significant benefits derived from the responsible use of packaging and the industry’s concern for the community and the environment alike.
Member organisations vary in size from some of the largest in the industry to smaller one and two location firms. All sectors are represented; glass, metal, paper & board and plastics, with representation accounting for over 50% of the industry. All the sector trade associations and a number of recycling organisations and compliance schemes are represented.
Rather than utilising the Program in its conventional format, where members are featured on the directory in order to deliver new business opportunities, the federation chose to exploit their participation to educate the broader business audience about the scope of their activities and to promote themselves to potential new members.
Daniel French, co-founder and Sales Director at Businessmagnet said “The Packaging Federation’s participation is a great indication of how the Program is incredibly flexible. Different organisations have realised the numerous alternative ways they can use it to deliver benefit for their members and their own organisations”.
“Since launching the Program, we have tailored it to answer the specific objectives of all of the associations and organisations we are working with so far - I can’t really see a situation arising where we won’t be able to provide a solution for any requirement an association partner may throw at us” French commented.
He added “Our search engine coverage is constantly increasing, on a daily basis the directory is getting more traffic than ever before – we achieve up to 3.5million page views and up to 1million unique users every month. In its conventional form, the program provides association members the ability to highlight their status within their sector to our visitors”.
Over the last 7 years the award winning directory has successfully grown the business working with b2b organisations in a diverse range of sectors. “We feature more than 120,000 businesses covering over 50,000 products and services on the directory” stated French.
Along with attributing the relevant association or trade body logo to customer’s content on the directory, an Industry Associations area has been added where browsers can obtain more information about the relevant associations in order to understand what that could mean to them as a potential customer.
