Gaurav understands what makes franchising and licensing work in the western world and has adapted both disciplines to fit India.

On Wednesday, November 30th, 2011, Atlanta Business RadioX™ co-hosts Pete Canalichio and Bill Jachthuber were joined by Gaurav Marya, the President of Franchise India to discuss his perspective on the state of franchising and licensing in India.

Host Pete Canalichio notes, “Gaurav understands what makes franchising and licensing work in the western world and has adapted both disciplines to fit India. He is sought after to provide his leadership and expertise by large and small companies across the globe so having him here on the show was an honor.”

Marya, known as the “Father of Franchising” in India, spoke about how franchising started in there in the early 1990s and how far it has grown. He compared the launch of licensing to franchising and conveyed how India is poised for tremendous growth. According to Gaurav, the biggest issue facing licensing in India is lack of knowledge and an eco-system. For this reason, Gaurav and Franchise India have chosen to host to the Brand Licensing India conference for the past several years. This year’s conference endorsed by the International Licensing and Merchandisers Association (LIMA) will be held at the Ashok hotel in New Delhi, India from December 2 – 3, 2011. Attendance is expected to reach 30,000.

Guarav, always looking for new ways to educate and inform about branding and licensing had this to say, “The BrandMoney radio show provides a tremendous platform to get the word out about what we are doing to promote licensing in India. I don’t know of any other radio platforms that are dedicated to increasing knowledge about the brand licensing industry. In fact, I plan to share this interview with many of the guests that will be attending Brand Licensing India 2011 so that can learn about what we are doing and about BrandMoney.”
