We were able to find a recipe of recreational success and resort development that appeals to people that helps us accomplish this,” stated Ben Carr, Vice President of Operations.

Ocean Canyon Properties, the fastest growing chain of private membership camping resorts, is pleased to announce that its number of members has recently passed 12,000.

Founded in 2008, Ocean Canyon Properties was able to find ways to make vacationing easy and affordable - both aspects that helped to bring in such a quick rise in its number of members. “At OCP, we want to ensure that our members are able to enjoy their stays with us. We were able to find a recipe of recreational success and resort development that appeals to people that helps us accomplish this,” stated Ben Carr, Vice President of Operations. Ocean Canyon Properties has taken this recipe and continued to grow.

One of the first things that OCP looks for is the location of their resorts. Seven of the eight resorts are within an hour and a half from a major city: Tres Rios to Dallas; Abita Springs to New Orleans; North Shore to Atlanta; Styx River to Mobile and Pensacola; Millwood Landing to Texarkana and Little Rock; Mountain Lakes to Huntsville; and Bear’s Den to Tulsa. With these cities close by, the resorts are able to give the members the chance to easily spend relaxing days at the resort, and also the chance to head to the city for the day to shop or visit.

An integral part of the success recipe that OCP focuses on with their members is the amount of family and resort activities that they plan. Pot lucks, karaoke nights, bingo, and children’s arts and crafts are just a few of the daily events that each resort has to offer. The interaction of the staff with the members helps build relationships that OCP hopes will last a lifetime. “We just got back from Texoma Shores and had a great time. The staff is great and treated us as if they had been friends forever,” shared Charles Hair from Mountain View, Arkansas.

Resort security and making the members feel secure is another point that has helped OCP pass 12,000 members in such a quick amount of time. “Knowing that when we arrive on park and that the security is all around is comforting. The resorts take great care of us when we are here and it helps make it a more relaxed stay,” said OCP member Steve Stevenson while visiting OCP’s Tres Rios Resort in Glen Rose, TX. Each resort has a 24-hour security system. With front gates that require security codes, or others that have staff to check everyone in, OCP takes the time at all hours of the day to ensure their members are able to relax in a safe environment.

Ocean Canyon Properties takes pride in its quick and continuing growth in memberships. Whether a person enjoys fishing at Texoma Shores Resort, boating at Mountain Lakes Resort, or simply relaxing by a campfire at Millwood Landing Resort in Ashdown, AR, each of its resorts is able to offer these activities to you. New member Carla Graham Mathews sums it up well: “Thank you for the wonderful places to come and relax and forget our troubles.”

Ocean Canyon Properties was recently recognized with several awards from Coast to Coast RV Resorts Network for their 2011 achievements in sales and growth. Three of their representatives had over 100 sales each, with one, Gary Zehender, taking home the award for top sales representative in the Western Region. “They are the fastest growing membership camping company in the nation,” said Bruce Hoster, president of Coast to Coast.
