Do you have what it takes to be a great chef like Food Network star Chef Aarón Sánchez? Cacique®, the largest Hispanic cheese brand in the U.S and Chef Aarón Sánchez are offering you the chance to prove it with your own original recipe.
Put your own creative spin on a Latin-inspired dish using Cacique's line of authentic ingredients, such as all-natural Cacique Queso Fresco, Queso Quesadilla, creamy, smooth Crema Mexicana or zesty Chorizo and enter the Go Auténtico Challenge which kicked off on September 16 (the Mexican Independence Day Bicentennial) for the chance to win a five-day Culinary Boot Camp Vacation at The Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, California.
The Go Auténtico Challenge gives chefs and foodies the opportunity to create an original dish using Cacique's authentic Hispanic products for a chance to compete in a final-four cook-off that will be filmed, and broadcast over national television in February. Viewers will also be able to watch the entire cook-off online at http://www.caciqueusa.com.
"All great chefs want the best ingredients available because you just can't substitute quality if you want to achieve the flavors you're looking for. Cacique's authentic products are the first step to creating delicious traditional and fusion dishes, and I love being able to share special ingredients with fellow foodies," says Food Network Celebrity Chef Aarón Sánchez "So go ahead and play with your food to see what Latin-inspired dishes you can cook up, and enter our 'Go Auténtico' cook-off challenge."
Here's how the Go Auténtico Challenge works.
Submit an original recipe using Cacique's line of Hispanic products. Choose from Cacique's cheeses, creams and chorizos as the main ingredient of your authentic Mexican dish. The contest begins on September 16, 2010 and all recipes must be submitted by November 15, 2010 at http://www.caciqueusa.com/goautentico/landing or can be submitted via mail to 128 W. Santa Fe Ave., Placentia, CA 92870. Particpants can enter as many recipes as they want. The contest is open to all U.S. residents age 18 and over. See Chef Sánchez's take on Cacique-inspired, traditional, Go Auténtico recipes, on the Cacique Web site at http://www.caciqueusa.com/goautentico/landing.
Cacique and Chef Sánchez will review the recipe submissions and select the final four contestants who will compete in New York City at the nationally televised Cacique Go Auténtico Challenge hosted at Chef Sánchez's restaurant, Centrico. Chef Sánchez and a panel of guest judges will evaluate the contestant's dish and judge them on taste, effective use of Cacique products, dish presentation, and recipe creativity of authentic Mexican and Latin-inspired dishes.
The grand prize winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip for two to Napa Valley, California and a five day Culinary Boot Camp Vacation at The Culinary Institute of America. Visit http://www.caciqueusa.com/goautentico/landing to learn more about the Go Auténtico Cook-Off Challenge.
