Review a variety of CAD/CAM Products and Services

making it easy for people to research and find reviews on products so they can make the best purchasing decisions possible, an extension to, is an online reviews site with a social component, allowing mechanical engineers, machinists and design professionals to research and get advice on all kinds of machines and software used to design and manufacture products.

“More and more mechanical engineers, machinists and design professionals are using the web to research and buy manufacturing software products and services,” says CADCAMConnect Founder and CEO Ken Wilson. “We noticed a void when it came to one site offering reviews on all products related to the entire design to manufacturing workflow process. Our mission has always been to make it easy for people to research and find reviews on products so they can make the best purchasing decisions possible.”

“We’re sort of like a, or ConsumerReports for the CAD/CAM products and services industry,” says Wilson. “The site gives anyone the opportunity to post any manufacturing product they want to share with others, along with their own personal experience about it.”

Wilson, a 15-year CAD/CAM software veteran, also rates products based on his experience in the industry and feedback from clients. “We do our best to be an unbiased resource for people who need to cut through the clutter and get to the meat of what they need”.

“A site like this will be a huge time saver for us,” says John Acosta, an Engineering Technician. “As it grows, we’ll be able to go there to hear from people who actually use these products and work with these suppliers. Once you make a decision, you have to live with it for a long time. We’ve been burned in the past. We want to be sure we make the right decision the first time. will help reduce that risk by allowing us to consult with multiple sources and get individual perspectives in order to make an informed decision before we spend money,” says Acosta.

The site offers opinions and advice on a myriad of products ranging from CAD software to CAM software, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, 3D printers, 3D content, animation software, CNC machines and more. Users can browse for products manually, or ask for “expert” advice on products they want to buy.
