Technology entrepreneurs Ross Fobian and Richard Hamnett have been shortlisted for the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2009.
Ross (25) and Richard (26) are Directors at Manchester Company AdInsight Ltd, one of just eight finalists shortlisted for the national Shell LiveWIRE Award - the winner of which will be announced at the Shell LiveWIRE LIVE! event on Tuesday, October 27th.
The duo founded AdInsight Limited in June 2008, offering clients a simple and accurate method of tracking offline telephone conversions (sales) from both online and offline advertisements.
Using their combined business acumen and IT knowledge Ross and Richard have developed the fledgling enterprise into one of the UK's leading call tracking businesses.
"The backbone of our business is our unique AdInsight software application, which we developed in-house as a way of enabling businesses to improve their marketing performance," explained Ross.
"AdInsight provides businesses with a way to track successful sales calls back to the original online or offline advertising source, in essence tracing the customer's entire journey from the initial advert they saw through to the sale.
"The overall result is that businesses can see which advertisements are driving sales and which are not worth the marketing investment and all the information is provided in real time, at the touch of a button," stated Ross.
Currently AdInsight, which is based at Manchester Science Park, has a staff of seven but both Ross and Richard have ambitious plans for the future with plans to recruit more staff as well as a commitment to continued innovation and product development.
Under Ross and Richard's direction, Ad Insight was the first company in the UK to integrate call tracking technology with Google Analytics and, in a further development, the system can now be integrated with any online analytics solution.
The Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur shortlist follows AdInsight's success in the summer, when the company was awarded the Best Newcomer Award at the Big Chip Awards -¬ the North West of England's annual awards for companies excelling in IT and digital technology.
"Of course we hope we win the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year but to feature in the shortlist alongside some of the UK's leading young entrepreneurs is an endorsement of all our hard work so far; we are absolutely delighted," said Ross.
