This project allows everyone at the agency an opportunity to connect with the community and a deserving charity
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) February 11, 2008
cj Advertising, a Nashville-based advertising agency, recently started its own charity fundraising initiative, Camels with a Cause (CWAC). This project has been designed to serve as the agency's conduit of support for one deserving charitable opportunity three times a year. Furthermore, the project is empowered by a staff of more than 50 at the agency with one hundred percent of raised funds being donated to charity. By everyone at cj contributing their talents--such as Web design, copywriting, production, and graphic design--to this project, it has become a true team effort.
Staff members are encouraged to nominate their favorite charities with the only requirement being that they must tap into their passions to lead the charge to fulfill a need for that charity. In other words, they must "chair" the event or project. If the staff member commits to chairing the event, the agency will fully support that employee and respective charity for the period.
"This project allows everyone at the agency an opportunity to connect with the community and a deserving charity," said Arnie S. Malham, president of cj Advertising. "We are excited and proud to launch Camels with a Cause, and we are amazed at how much good has already come from it. The outpouring of support for our first initiative, helping in the fight against cancer, has already raised thousands of dollars to help cancer victims across the United States."
Helping One of Our Own
CWAC's inaugural effort was suggested by Mark Scrivner, cj's Director of Operations, who is currently leading the CWAC charge to raise funds for cancer research. When Mark lost his father to lung cancer in October 2007, he realized the pressing need to do his part in helping find a cure. He committed himself to raising $50,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in its Team in Training program. As a result, he will be running in the 2008 Country Music Marathon in Nashville with the rest of the local Team in Training group in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
With the assistance of the CWAC group and its newly created Web site, more than $7,000 has been raised to date. Also, Mr. Malham has committed to paying the marathon entry fees for all cj employees who wish to run alongside Mark and support his cause. Currently, two employees are participating in the entire marathon, and 15 employees are participating in the half marathon. Also, cj members have established a weekly training routine to keep everyone motivated and offer encouragement.
"The Camels with a Cause crew is proud to help Mark reach his goals while also helping raise funds and awareness about this deadly disease that affects millions around the globe," explained Marci Kacsir, CWAC Marketing Coordinator.
