Strengthen Campus Security with Avitecture® Campus Awareness Systems
Avitecture, Inc.’s new Campus Awareness System is an integrated, turnkey, dynamic multimedia solution to a nationwide problem: stronger security for America’s colleges and universities.
Sterling, Va (PRWEB) May 1, 2007 -- Avitecture, Inc.’s new Campus Awareness System is an integrated, turnkey, dynamic multimedia solution to a nationwide problem: stronger security for America’s colleges and universities. Local and national emergency messages can be seen and heard almost anywhere on campus almost instantaneously. Versatility and scalability distinguish the Avitecture® Campus Awareness System from other emergency communications systems.
“The Avitecture Campus Awareness System is more than signage,” said Greg Boyd, executive vice president of Avitecture, Inc. “It’s a powerful multimedia solution.”
Unlike a one-dimensional approach, the Avitecture Campus Awareness System gets the message out through many channels: e-mail, text messages, sirens, stroboscopic lights, and virtually any other kind of audiovisual alert. Digital visual displays can be installed anywhere from dorm lobbies and study lounges to cafeterias and libraries. Installation outdoors is possible, for example, at the main entrances to a campus. Unlike products that use only telephone systems that could be overwhelmed during an emergency, the Avitecture Campus Awareness System is self-contained and can work even during a power or telephone outage.
The Avitecture Campus Awareness System is designed and engineered for each college with video displays each with a small, ruggedized industrial PC, a content management component, and secure player software. Content can be managed either directly by the client or by Avitecture’s secure operations center. The number of managed displays is limitless and, furthermore, any display can easily be integrated into existing life-safety systems such as fire alarms and campus security cameras.
When the Avitecture Campus Awareness System is not broadcasting emergency information and alerts, it can display campus news and events, schedule changes, and other local information as well as national and international news.
The Avitecture® Campus Awareness System is available from Avitecture, Inc., 1 Export Drive, Sterling, VA 20164, telephone 703.404.8900, www.avitecture.com.
