iPhone applications developer AIM APPS today announced the release of its Breast Cancer Ribbons app available on the iPhone App Store in iTunes on the iPhone App Store in iTunes®. This breakthrough app, is the first and only breast cancer awareness wallpaper app to be released on the App Store. Quoting from the App Store listing for Breast Cancer Ribbons, "Now you can promote breast cancer awareness with your iPhone or iPod touch. Every time you turn your device on, and each time your iPhone rings, it will become a powerful mobile billboard that will draw attention to this important issue. The beautifully rendered images in this inspiring collection are as stunning as they are thought-provoking."
AIM APPS version of the classic pink awareness ribbon was created by James Steidl, recently ranked the 30th most downloaded photographer in the world. The app offers over 25 different messages to choose from, each offered with a choice of a brilliant white or gleaming black background. In all, the app includes more than 50 iPhone wallpapers promoting breast cancer awareness. The wallpapers serve as a background image that displays on the iPhone's screen whenever it rings or is turned on and is also compatible with iPod touch.
Breast cancer survivors can inspire others by choosing a slogan from the Breast Cancer Ribbons app that celebrates this in years ("One Year", "5 Years", "10 Years", "15 Years", "20 Years", "30 Years", "35 Years"). Other choices include powerful one-word messages like "Believe", "Courage" and "Faith" adorning the classic pink ribbon. This thoughtful collection also offers two uplifting Scripture verses to build faith and strengthen hope when needed most. There are also breast cancer supporter wallpapers that family members and friends of those touched by breast cancer can select as their iPhone wallpaper to bring awareness to the issue.
The inspiration behind the Breast Cancer Ribbons app is the sister of AIM APPS' founder who is a 6 year breast cancer survivor.
AIM APPS has other awareness and advocacy applications in the works including another breast cancer awareness app featuring inspiring healing scriptures and prayers, an AIDS awareness app, a Support Our Troops awareness app, political advocacy apps and several others. Its first app to be released on the App store, Images of Faith Wallpaper - Vol. 1, also features the photography of James Steidl who has been referred to as the "Thomas Kinkaid" of the photography medium. A "Pro" version of that app has just been released in the App Store and includes a built-in "add text" utility that will allow users to add their own Scripture verse choices or other inspirational messages to the wallpaper backgrounds.
The Breast Cancer Ribbons awareness wallpaper app] is available for just $0.99 on the App Store, the minimum price that iTunes permits for paid apps.
"At just under a dollar, anyone can afford to buy this app. Of course, we wish we could make the app available for no charge at all," said a spokesman for AIM APPS, "but it takes thousands of dollars to develop and promote an application like this and our work could not continue without recouping our investment. We feel we've got an important role to play in digital and mobile media as our database marketing and digital media company has had a major focus in the political, advocacy and issue awareness markets for many years. We understand and are very committed to these markets and look forward to providing one more touch-point to those with affinity to these issues."
AIM APPS has several other awareness and advocacy applications for iPhone in the works and also has plans to develop its "mobile billboard" apps in the awareness and advocacy niche for third-parties such as political campaigns, issue organizations and nonprofits.
