Great leaders and great organizations are the result of hard work and commitment to excellence. While we all keep hoping for it, there is no organizational magic wand and great leaders are not born great and ready to be hired.

All organizations, regardless of industry or profit orientation, are systems. They are a complex web of interrelated parts. Touch one part and you impact another part; whether you realize it or not. All too often a "fix" to one part has an unintended impact somewhere else. Rarely is that unintended impact a positive one for the organization as a whole!

Brenda Kerton recently started Capability Insights Consulting to help organizations see the connections and relationships, help them work through the complexity and execute changes that truly create organizational capability and greatness vs. organizational chaos.

Brenda and Capability Insights focus in on 3 core service offerings to help clients:

Business Process Improvement - An organization is what it does, so it must do it well. A process that worked at start-up is often inadequate as an organization grows. Changing situations and environments can create the need for changed business processes. A key component of this service is the Reality Review. The first step in any improvement plan is knowing the starting place! From that starting place, Capability Insights works in partnership with its clients to design changes to processes or new processes that create that "just-enough" structure the organization needs to move forward.

Peer to Leader Transition Program - Good people and good processes need strong and effective leadership. Calling someone a leader does not suddenly make them one! Even the best leaders must hone their skills as situations change. This service provides training, coaching and support to first time leaders or leaders in new situations. While great leaders are not born, it need not to take years for someone to become an effective leader on their way to being a great leader.

IT Process Overhaul - Few organizations can survive without IT and all great organizations apply IT to achieve the best from their people and processes. Capability Insights will assess the strengths and weaknesses and help redesign governance, software development, software procurement, project management and business analysis and requirements processes.

Great organizations are made when they continuously tackle business process issues, commit to leadership development and apply IT to their best advantage. A great leader is made when he/she commits to their own development, courageously tackles process issues and works with their their people to design the business processes and automation support that acheive great results.
