Cape Resorts Group is excited to reveal innovative programming, as well as special Thanksgiving menus and room rates, for the fall season. In addition to the charming beaches for which Cape May is well known, Cape Resorts Group properties are lauded nationwide for distinctive activities that attract discerning travelers all year long. Highlighting Cape May’s year-round appeal, the autumn offers many unique opportunities for guests to experience the true essence of southern New Jersey.

The first offering from the all-American hotel group is the Falling for Cape May package at Congress Hall, The Virginia and The Sandpiper, which utilizes Cape Resort Group’s renowned Beach Plum Farm for a special family vacation. A family of four can enjoy a one day bicycle rental and takeaway lunch from Tommy’s Folly for a classic picnic on the farm (group of two adults, two children.) The farm’s pigs, chickens, new sheep’s meadow and 100 plus varieties of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers will await their arrival. Activities during the day include getting lost in the corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin picking and scarecrow decorating competitions, Refreshments for sale will include bottled water, fresh lemonade and apple cider; while baked seasonal goods featuring fresh produce from Beach Plum Farm include pumpkin and zucchini bread as well as candy apples (Rates start at $349 at Congress Hall.)

The charming Virginia Hotel & Cottages introduce Farm Service exclusively for select cottage guests. To create the feeling of being at home while still enjoying a relaxing getaway, Cottage guests will now have the opportunity to prepare their food as if they were in their own home. A unique spin on the typical room service amenity, Beach Plum Farm invites visitors to select farm ingredients that will be delivered to their door each morning. Guests can choose from a medley of vegetables including onions, potatoes and asparagus, as well as fresh herbs like basil, mint and thyme. Additionally, the new Executive Chef at The Virginia’s famed Ebbitt Room, Anthony Micari, will provide recommended recipes using these seasonal ingredients.

The Virginia Hotel & Cottages and Congress Hall present the Thanksgiving Getaway Package for the holiday this year. Available November 20-25, this package includes two or three night accommodations in the Virginia Hotel or the property’s Red Cottage, a four-course Thanksgiving feast and wine pairing for two people at the Ebbitt Room on guest’s choice of night, and Continental Breakfast for two each morning. For travelers seeking the luxuries of Thanksgiving at a resort, Congress Hall’s Thanksgiving Getaway package features one, two or three-night accommodations, Thanksgiving dinner and daily breakfast for two in the legendary Blue Pig Tavern. Rates start at $239 (Red Cottage), $294 (Virginia Hotel) and $255 (Congress Hall) per night.

For Thanksgiving dinner specifically at The Virginia Hotel, guests and their families are invited to celebrate with their very own traditions via three new dining options:

  •     The Classic Thanksgiving Dinner: The Ebbitt Room’s Thanksgiving menu features traditional Thanksgiving staples for all to enjoy. Guests only need to choose one item per course from the multi-course Thanksgiving Prix-Fix Menu. $60 per person, $35 extra for wine pairing per person.
  •     Gourmet Thanksgiving To-Go: Cottage guests can order a fully-prepared, gourmet, packaged meal to be delivered hot on or before 2pm. If guests choose to eat later, the meal comes with re-heating instructions and a personal note from Chef Micari. Must be ordered a day in advance. ($45 per person)
  •     A Very Customized Thanksgiving: Select cottage guests are invited to prepare their own Thanksgiving meal at their leisure. Simply pre-order this Thanksgiving meal package prior to arrival and all necessary ingredients will be stocked in the cottage’s kitchen pantries. Menus and recipes will be available in advance with a note and instructions from Chef Micari. ($45 per person)
