Austin, Texas (PRWEB) August 22, 2012
According to settlement documents, the car accident occurred in July of 2010 at the intersection of the northbound frontage road of Interstate Highway 35 and Yager Lane. The defendant failed to stop at a red light, T-boning the plaintiff’s car.
Settlement documents state that the plaintiff approached the defendant after the accident to ask for personal information, but the defendant refused to give any personal information or exchange insurance cards and fled the scene when informed that the plaintiff was going to call the police. The defendant left the scene without rendering aid or exchanging information, according to documents for the case that would have been tried in the Austin Municipal Court System, claim number A10032006.
“Leaving the scene of a car accident is selfish and shows an extreme degree of negligence,” McMinn said. “Actions like that should not be tolerated in Travis County. This settlement will go a long ways to helping my client find a way to recover from her terrible accident.”
McMinn settled the case for $80,000 in exchange for a complete and final release from any and all liens and standard indemnity provisions.
