Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) November 01, 2013
A recently released Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report ranks Knoxville as one of the safest driving cities in America, which Knoxville personal injury lawyer G. Turner Howard today said is terrific news for anyone who uses the city’s roads and highways.
Knoxville is listed 12th in Allstate Insurance Company’s “Best Drivers Report,” which ranks 194 American cities. According to an Allstate news release (Knoxville ranks #12 on 2013 ‘Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report,’” Aug. 27) a driver in Knoxville on average will get into an accident once every 11.8 years. By comparison, a driver in Washington, D.C., the city ranked Number 194, will get into an accident once every 4.8 years on average.
According to an article published by WBIR.com, residents interviewed said they agreed that Knoxville deserves a good rating for driving. WBIR, however, reported that some people commenting on the story noted that they see too much texting and other distractions, as well as too many people speeding. Some people mentioned that they feel unsafe using Alcoa Highway, according to the report.
“The insurance report is certainly good news for anyone who uses the roads and highways in Knoxville,” said Howard, a car accident attorney who represents victims of negligence and families who have lost loved ones in accidents. “While Knoxville is one of the safer cities to drive in, accidents still happen every day and can have devastating consequences. We urge all drivers to avoid distractions and dangerous behavior such as texting and driving, drinking and driving or speeding. Let’s keep Knoxville a safe driving city in the years to come.”
Knoxville is one of the safest driving cities in the state, according to the Allstate report. Other Tennessee cities listed in the report include Chattanooga (31), Clarksville (69), Nashville (80), and Memphis (84).
Allstate reports that according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car accident fatalities spiked by more than 1,700 from 2011 to 2012, the first year-to-year increase in fatalities since 2005.
Howard said a Knoxville personal injury lawyer can help someone seriously injured or a family who lost someone seek compensation. An accident attorney also can help send a message that unsafe driving behavior will not be tolerated on the roads and highways in Tennessee, Howard said.
