Carbon emissions generated by wedding gowns preserved at Janet Davis Dry Cleaners will now be offset by donations to Carbonfund.org.

Their decision helps continue to spread the message that global warming affects all of us, and we can all be part of the solution by reducing and offsetting our carbon footprint.

Janet Davis Cleaners, who specializes in wedding gown cleaning, restoration and preservation and is a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists (AWGS), has partnered with the Carbonfund.org to offer carbon neutral wedding gown preservations.

The AWGS has formed a unique relationship to become the first to offer green wedding gown preservations as a standard service for all active members. All emissions generated in the gown-preservation process -- from the bride's visit to Janet Davis Cleaners and the dry cleaning procedures to the wedding chest's manufacture -- will now be offset by donations to Carbonfund.org. Labels reading "ZeroCarbon," a Carbonfund.org trademark, will appear on wedding gown preservations, and donations will fund reforestation projects worldwide.

Dave Matthews, President of Janet Davis Cleaners said, "I think everybody can appreciate planting trees to help offset the carbon footprint associated with cleaning and preserving your wedding gown. This is a unique feature not available with any other wedding gown preservation program."

"We are very pleased the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists has decided to increase their commitment to the environment," says Eric Carlson, Carbonfund.org president. "Their decision helps continue to spread the message that global warming affects all of us, and we can all be part of the solution by reducing and offsetting our carbon footprint."

Carbonfund.org supports global reforestation, renewable-energy and energy-efficiency projects that reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The not-for-profit has more than 400,000 individual supporters and more than 1,000 corporate partners including companies such as Volkswagen, JetBlue, Motorola and Hyundai. Brides interested in calculating an entire wedding's carbon footprint can find a carbon calculator at carbonfund.org/weddings.

The Association of Wedding Gown Specialists is a not-for-profit trade association registered in Canada. Members represented in over 500 cities worldwide specialize in cleaning, restoring, and preserving wedding gowns, both new and vintage at their own plants. A written international guarantee is honored by every member. More than 70 designers and manufacturers recommend the Association's preservations.

Janet Davis Dry Cleaners also engages in other eco-friendly initiatives such as recycling, energy conservation and more. Visit http://www.janetdaviscleaners.com for more information.
