Carboxytherapy, a new skin therapy for ocular and skin rejuvenation, is now available in Houston, Texas. This nonsurgical cosmetic therapy utilizing carbon dioxide to improve dark under eye circles, wrinkles and baggy eyelids is introduced by Dr Zaniewski-Singh.

Carboxytherapy is a nonsurgical treatment for body and skin rejuvenation which is very popular in Europe and South America. This technique has a number of applications but Dr. Zaniewski-Singh feels that it is a very effective way to improve eyelid appearance without surgery and with no downtime.

Puffy eyelids and dark under eye circles have a number of causes. Vascular pooling and congestion, hyperpigmentation, skin laxity, herniation or enlargement of the infraorbital fat pads and development of a tear trough deformity can all play roles in the development of baggy eyelids. Vascular pooling due to impaired circulation and lack of oxygenation can cause purple or bluish discoloration. Injecting a small amount of carbon dioxide into the area improves the circulation, improves oxygenation, reduces edema, improves the discoloration and increases the dermal collagen deposition in the skin. A series of treatments results in skin tightening and improvement of wrinkles.

Doctor Zaniewski-Singh states that her patients are very pleased by the skin rejuvenation they see with Carboxytherapy for dark circles under their eyes, stretch marks and scars. Doctor Zaniewski-Singh has been selected as one of Houston's TopDocs in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 by HTexas magazine. She was selected for Profiles in Healthcare Distinction by Houston Modern Luxury Magazine in 2007.
