This new Career Key partnership with CFNC.org enables North Carolina students and adult learners to take advantage of all the benefits of an accurate personality-career and college major match.

Career planning leader and valid career test provider Career Key, http://www.careerkey.org, announces a new partnership with the State of North Carolina and leading online career and college planning provider XAP Corporation. North Carolina students and users of the nonprofit College Foundation of North Carolina website, http://www.cfnc.org, will now be able to take The Career Key’s valid career test.

“For future academic and career success, it’s important to make a choice based on one’s interests and Holland personality type -- using a scientifically valid career test,” says Dr. Lawrence K. Jones, NCC, Career Key author and Professor Emeritus at North Carolina State University. “This new partnership with CFNC.org enables North Carolina students and adult learners to take advantage of all the benefits of an accurate personality-career and college major match.”

The addition of the Career Key measure is a significant step for CFNC as it strives to increase the college-going rate and success of North Carolinians, because scientific studies show that a compatible personality-college major match is associated with better grades, persistence in major, and timely graduation.

Students can also use their Career Key scores from the CFNC website to take advantage of “personality-college major match” at one of North Carolina’s major universities, North Carolina State University (NCSU). Recently, NCSU joined Career Key’s “Colleges that Match Up” program, enabling students to match their Holland personality to NCSU’s college majors.

The Career Key test is one of the few scientifically valid measures of the Holland personality types – in other words, it measures what is claimed. Peer-reviewed, published studies attest to this. It takes 10-15 minutes to complete and is suited for middle and high school students, as well as college students and adults.
