Coinciding with the Olympic Games, the March 2010 issue of Golf Magazine features its medal rankings and Casa de Campo – home of the Pete Dye designed Teeth of the Dog , Dye Fore and Links courses, is one of only 25 properties cited as a Gold Medal winner. Golf Magazine started this ranking in 1988 and it is the "oldest and most authoritative rating of the games finest properties," according to the publication. Properties are ranked on four criteria: golf, lodging, dining and service. Since the votes were cast, Casa de Campo opened many new facilities to enhance a golfer's vacation at this resort:
New golf experience: the David Leadbetter Golf Academy at Casa de Campo, its only Caribbean facility, which opened January 2010 offering our guests high-quality instruction.
New lodging and facilities. Just last month Casa de Campo unveiled new chic, Elite hotel rooms and Suites with 42” LCD flat screen TV with Blue-ray Disc player and cable, alarm clock radio with dual dock for iPod and iPhone, mini-bar with espresso coffee machine, and more. A new contemporary main area was also unveiled and features a new lobby, main pool area with three pools, private cabanas, and trellised platforms for yoga, and a fitness center featuring all new equipment by Cybex including its "Sweet Spot" Golf Fitness Solution!
New Dining. In the heart of the main area of Casa de Campo is the new La Cana Restaurant & Lounge by Il Circo. The Sirio Maccioni family, founders of the famed Le Cirque and Il Circo restaurants in New York and Las Vegas, recently opened this new restaurant that expands their culinary presence at this resort beyond their first venture, The Beach Club by Le Cirque at the resort's private Minitas Beach.
