Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 31, 2013
Today, SupportStore.com launched its new "Cash for Causes" program. SupportStore has always donated a portion of profits to charity, but now the customer gets a choice in which charity their purchases support.
Retroactive to purchases made since January 1st, 2013, SupportStore customers earn points that accumulate until they choose how to "spend" them. SupportStore staff makes the selection of which charities show up on the list based on past giving history and the types of causes in stock products represent. The initial set of charities that customers can choose to donate to include the following:
American Brain Foundation
American Cancer Society
American Diabetes Association
American Heart Association
American Lung Association
American Red Cross
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids
The Humane Society of the United States
March of Dimes
Mayo Clinic Foundation
National Alliance on Mental Illness
National Christian Foundation
National Domestic Violence Hotline
The Nature Conservancy
NEA Foundation for Education
The One Fund for Boston Marathon
Connecticut PTSA Sandy Hook Fund
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Wounded Warrior Project
Customers can see their point balance at any time, and choose one or more charities to donate to as their points accumulate. Or, if they prefer, they can convert points into a dollars-off reward on a future SupportStore purchase.
Redemptions are simple and performed by the customer at their convenience in their SupportStore account. SupportStore writes quarterly checks to the organizations based on the customer redemptions for the period.
Now, for example, when a customer buys the blue Colon Cancer Awareness wristbands or the blue "Hope - Courage – Faith” wristbands to show support for that cancer, they can choose to donate to the American Cancer Society, impacting the cause in two ways.
