Khanna Vision Institute has released a novel idea to increase jobs and jump start the economy.Top LASIK Doctor Rajesh Khanna, MD suggests a "cash for peepers" program similar to the "cash for clunkers" scheme. As we are aware the cash for clunkers program was instrumental in turning around the automotive industry, and according to President Obama gave "American economy, a much needed boost." The cash for peepers program would similarly have a refund voucher for $4500. Only people having advanced LASIK, by Board Certified American surgeons utilizing American made 4 th generation lasers would qualify for the refund voucher. This would increase the work and revenue of laser practices and manufacturers (who collect pillor point fees on every surgery). They in turn would hire more skilled and unskilled labor. Dr. Khanna feels, "It would also be a long term investment in the most important resource of our country - its people" . It may also decrease the burden on insurance industry allowing them to hiring and providing health for all.

Rajesh Khanna, MD is based in private practice at Khanna Vision Institute in Beverly Hills. Khanna Vision Institute also has an office in thousand oaks, near Reagan Presidential library in Simi valley. He has contributed to many charities including Impact foundation, Cartwheel and Wounded Warrior Project.
