Buying Caterpillar Boots online couldn't be simpler, says shoes retailer FitnessFootwear as they report record sales.

Christmas is just around the corner with record sales of Caterpillar boots beating the credit crunch and rumours of recession for online shoe retailer FitnessFootwear.

Recently, the Stevenage based company recommended Caterpillar boots for walking to work in the cold and icy weather conditions as the United Kingdom was frozen to a stand still by a sudden cold snap that blanketed the North West in snow, causing the three day closure of roads and schools.

With Christmas approaching and cold weather forecast through until February, sales of winter boots have been soaring, with brands like Caterpillar in the lead and capturing the public's attention with their rugged approach to fashion and function as a popular work man's boot.

As a company, Caterpillar is renowned for their machines, engines, work tools and boots making them the construction worker's friend when it comes to function, fashion and getting the job done. Famous for their products featuring caterpillar tracks, bulldozers and a distinctive yellow paint scheme, Caterpillar bring their philosophy of 'built tough since 1904' to their growing range of work boots and fashionable footwear.

Founded in the United States, Caterpillar is a global company with a major presence in the UK, having established its first major European facility more than 50 years ago in order to serve their European customers with everything from natural gas engines to ladies fashion boots. Now employing more than 10,000 people, the UK represents the largest base for Caterpillar outside the United States as an environmentally responsible manufacturer of leading technologies and luxury items.

Caterpillar boots are just a small part of the Caterpillar company which follow their philosophy of rugged use, combined with outstanding performance and comfort. Recently, Caterpillar boots have branched out, identifying themselves as a high fashion brand with a growing range of women's Caterpillar footwear, including the Caterpillar Bruiser and more feminised interpretations of the classic work boot, such as the Jessie, Lucy and Mardy styles, which are better designer for a night on the town than a trudge through the mud.

For men, Caterpillar boots are the boot that's built to last, look good and offer excellent comfort for cold conditions, muddy footpaths or simply walking to work. For women, Caterpillar's growing range of high fashion footwear offers a new selection of styles to compliment a wide range of outfits styled for casual comfort or a wild night out.

Emma Barlow, FitnessFootwear Director said: "As soon as the weather turned cold, Caterpillar boots were on everyone's list. The icy weather conditions have helped our sales of Caterpillar boots to soar this season while the women's fashion boots have been flying out the door as well. When the girls go out for the evening they want to stay warm, so a stylish ladies Caterpillar boot is the obvious choice for looking good when it's cold."

FitnessFootwear has seen great success with their extensive selection of Caterpillar's new Caterpillar Colorado range of boots, featuring nubuck uppers, breathable mesh linings, EVA sock liners, rough and ready rubber midsole, outsole and hard wearing Goodyear Welt to offer consumers great grip, cosy comfort and eye catching fashion from a boot that's built to be tough.

Despite the credit crunch and Woolworth's closing down sales, high street and online retailers have seen booming sales of gifts this Christmas whether its fashion, footwear or sales of other luxury items while remaining confident that the upward sales trend will continue.

The 8th of December is estimated to be the busiest online shopping of the year in the UK, with experts forecasting that spending will reach £320m which equates to consumers spending approximately £1m every minute. The 'Mega Monday' spending is set to peak between 1pm and 2pm

Online sales records are being broken every year as increasing numbers of consumers start to feel comfortable shopping over the internet and "etailers" adapt to make the experience more convenient. With a strong dedication to usability, efficiency and a pleasant online shopping experience, FitnessFootwear is expecting record sales on Mega Monday.

With over 30 brands, more than 2000 products and thousands of new customers every day, FitnessFootwear is one of the fastest growing independent shoe retailers in the UK. FitnessFootwear bring their philosophy of efficiency and fun to their products and company culture, with a huge selection of shoes, boots and footwear for every activity and occasion, combining the comfort with style and function with fashion.
