Employees who have served our country bring ideals and skills that are a meaningful contribution and significant complement to the important public service CCA provides.

CCA is honoring active duty, Reserve and National Guard military servicepersons and veterans of the Armed Forces as Veterans Day approaches on November 11, 2010. At CCA, the largest partnership corrections company in America, approximately 10 percent of its nearly 17,000 employees are veterans.

"Our employees care for inmates and detainees in our facilities, protect public safety in communities and partner with government at all levels," said CCA president and CEO Damon Hininger. "Employees who have served our country bring ideals and skills that are a meaningful contribution and significant complement to the important public service CCA provides."

In its continued commitment to recognize the contributions of men and women who have served the country, CCA this year has spearheaded new awareness initiatives and campaigns with the military in mind. Inspired by the Veterans Day national holiday, during the week of Nov. 8, CCA will pay tribute to employees who are veterans in a special way. These employees will receive exclusive commemorative pins of appreciation during ceremonies at their facilities.

Additionally, with the launch of its CCA Patriot Packages this fall, the company is also reaching out to deployed active duty employees through care packages as well as cards and letters mailed on special occasions throughout the year, such as birthdays and holidays. Patriot Packages are sent in June and November, with collection for care package items occurring in May and October.

"The concept of sending care packages to loved ones has been around for decades, comforting children away at camp, college students, missionaries and, of course, soldiers," said Brian Collins, CCA executive vice president and chief human resources officer. "Receiving a care package is a warm reminder that loved ones at home are thinking of and missing them."

CCA has been nationally recognized by leading publications and organizations for its commitment to veterans. G.I. Jobs magazine, a popular resource for veterans transitioning into civilian employment, has named CCA as a "Top 100 Military Friendly Employer" ® for its success in recruiting, retaining and developing former servicepersons for their next career in corrections.
