Clearwater Compliance and the Tennessee chapter of the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) jointly announced today that Clearwater has joined the roster of TN HIMSS’ corporate sponsors for 2012.

The corporate sponsorships support the non-profit organization’s efforts in the healthcare IT industry, such as workforce development, trade conventions and government advocacy throughout the year.

“I can’t think of an organization more aligned with our company’s mission,” said Bob Chaput, CEO and Founder of Clearwater Compliance and long-time TN HIMSS member. “I’m looking forward to participating with other leaders in Tennessee’s healthcare arena and supporting strategic thinking surrounding the most effective use of information technology and management systems to improve the access, quality and affordability of health care.”

The TN HIMSS chapter is one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country, boasting more than 1,200 active members. The diverse group of members from Tennessee’s rich healthcare culture ranges from corporate executives to IT personnel, representing non-profits, universities and for-profit companies. Recognized for its entrepreneurial spirit, the Tennessee HIMSS chapter sponsors a number of events each year offering the opportunity for Tennessee’s healthcare technology leaders to participate in nationwide HIMSS chapters’ efforts to frame and lead healthcare practices and public policy to support its vision: advancing the best use of information management systems for the betterment of health care.

“Clearwater’s focus on providing technology to help healthcare organizations comply with the HIPAA-HITECH requirements to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic health information makes it a perfect fit for a TN HIMSS corporate sponsor,” said Justin Lanning, President of TN HIMSS. “We’re pleased to have Bob’s experience and expertise supporting our organization.”

Clearwater joins the company of other TN HIMSS sponsors: The SSI Group, Symantec and EMC.
