Ceilume today announced that its “15 Second Ceiling Makeover” commercial has earned a finalist position in Google’s Second Annual TV For All Video Contest, which promotes the use of TV advertising for small and mid-sized businesses. Created entirely by Ceilume employees, the commercial cleverly portrays how quickly and easily the company’s product – lightweight, decorative ceiling tiles --- can completely transform a room right before your eyes in real time. Ceilume tiles are dent and kink-resistant, incredibly lightweight, and easy to install in suspended ceiling (as shown in the video), direct mount and refacing applications. The tiles require no special tools or expertise, making them ideal for residential DIY projects or commercial applications.

“The fun part was coordinating all those people, hands, and movements in that small space; it was sort of like synchronized swimming, only without the water," said Ed Davis, President of Ceilume.

Chosen from several hundred entries, “15 Second Ceiling Makeover” is one of just seven finalists. Ceilume encourages you to join the fun by visiting the contest website at http://www.youtube.com/tvforall to vote for your favorite. Winners will be announced on November 12th.

Learning about the contest only days before the deadline, Ceilume scrambled to create an entry that would be both entertaining and informative. With no time to construct a set the company used an existing ceiling grid, slapped some paint on the walls and built a riser so everybody’s hands could reach the ceiling. “Then we rounded up a bunch of our available employees,” said Ed Davis, President of Ceilume, “and recruited them as twenty sets of hand models.”

“The fun part was coordinating all those people, hands, and movements in that small space; it was sort of like synchronized swimming, only without the water. We have the best crew on the planet,” Davis said, “we had a blast, and we’re ready for a sequel if Hollywood comes calling!”

Davis saw the video as a fun team building opportunity for his staff, and as a great way to create awareness of the decorative possibilities lingering right overhead. “People live and work under ugly suspended ceilings all day,” Davis observed, “never realizing how easy it is to turn them into something truly beautiful.” Ceilume offers a variety of ceiling tile collections including Ceilume Premiere (made from a specially formulated vinyl), Better Than Tin (metallic finish tiles) and its newest collection, Ceilume Sustainable (made in part from recycled soda and water bottles). Manufactured with a highly advanced thermoforming technique, Ceilume tiles rival the aesthetics and durability of authentic plaster and tin ceiling tiles, but at a fraction of the price.

Ceilume tiles are dent and kink-resistant, incredibly lightweight, and easy to install in suspended ceiling (as shown in the video), direct mount and refacing applications. The tiles require no special tools or expertise, making them ideal for residential DIY projects or commercial applications within restaurants, salons, spas, or hotels. Ceilume is also the only decorative ceiling tile company offering free ground shipping on all orders in the US and Canada. Customers can also order up to three free tile samples allowing them to test styles and finishes at their desired location.
