We all know how important it is when you're on a soap opera to have pretty, clean teeth and a fresh mouth for those kissing scenes.
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2008
While most of the Hollywood chatter this week focused on Tina Fey, Jeremy Piven, '30 Rock', 'Mad Men', and "who was wearing who" at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards, some red carpet regulars agreed that flashing a million-dollar smile is what really gets the cameras clicking.
Tony Award winner and Emmy Nominee Joe Mantegna from 'Criminal Minds', 'America's Got Talent' Host and 'Celebrity Apprentice' winner Piers Morgan, 'Super Nanny' Jo Frost, new 'American Idol' judge Kara DioGuardi, 'High School Musical' star Monique Coleman, 'General Hospital' and 'How Do I Look?' star Finola Hughes, 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant and former NFL great Warren Sapp, and 'Reno 911' and 'Clean House' star Niecy Nash, were among the celebs who insisted that designer fashions can help frame the image, but an appealing smile is what their fans remember. Said Nash, "… a fantastic smile, it's a must have! Whether you're on the red carpet or not, you don't want your grill to be raggedy."
Move over Armani. DenTek, famed for its oral hygiene products, is a dressing room staple of the mega stars. Before this year's Emmy's got underway, some stars recounted their "less than flattering" experiences -- including some embarrassing photos taken by the paparazzi. Brenda Song from Disney's 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' and 'The Suite Life on Deck' explained, "One time on the red carpet, I was so hungry I ate in the car. And the next day in my pictures, I had black pepper in my teeth. I always carry flossers with me in my purse. It's important to floss, so everyone - floss, floss, floss."
"You can be the best pick-up artist in the world, but if you have bad breath you will lose! Gingivitis is the #1 cause of having smelly breath, and this takes care of it," said Mystery (host of VH1's 'The Pickup Artist') holding a bag of DenTek Floss Picks.
'That's So Raven' star Rondell Sheridan, 'Trading Spaces' host Paige Davis, Omarosa of 'The Apprentice', 'Taxi' and 'Celebrity Apprentice' star Marilu Henner, 'America's Next Top Model' winner Adrianne Curry, and R&B singer/songwriter Bobby Brown were less bashful about their dental dilemmas when stopping by the DenTek booth. Omarosa noted,"… having these in your purse can save you thousands and thousands of dollars in a dental bill. Trust me; I carry these around wherever I go. I love this product."
DenTek products have long been a Hollywood mainstay. 'Dukes of Hazzard' and 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' star and country music singer John Schneider confided, "We use these on the set all the time. Take good care of your teeth and they'll take care of you."
Emmy nominee Melody Thomas Scott, 'The Young and the Restless' superstar added "We all know how important it is when you're on a soap opera to have pretty, clean teeth and a fresh mouth for those kissing scenes."
Founded by CEO John Jansheski, DenTek began with the Dental Pik™ and now features over 25 products. DenTek products offer convenient solutions for flossing, care of braces, teeth grinding, and jaw pain. As Sheridan explained, "I have hundreds of these. I keep these in my car because I eat in my car. I'm in the business where I need to have white teeth. This is really cool."
DenTek provided a Red Carpet Survival Kit to celebs at the celebration "because this was a milestone at 60 for the Emmy's and we know how important image is to our consumers," said Melinda Pritchett, Brand Manager, DenTek Oral Care, Inc. The kit featured a host of popular products including floss picks, tongue cleaners, brush picks, fun flossers, dental Sonic Pik, a tooth whitening kit, and nightguards. "We want all of our DenTek users to have peace of mind whether they are auditioning, interviewing, dating, dining, or accepting a coveted Emmy award." For more information visit DenTek.com.
More celebrity comments from DenTek's Hollywood celebration:
Jo Frost ('Super Nanny'): "I think it's very important for children to brush their teeth and (for) parents to educate them on the importance of oral hygiene. So, start young."
Paige Davis ("Trading Spaces'): "Interesting enough, I was just reading a magazine article yesterday that you're not supposed to use your tooth brush to clean your tongue. If you use your toothbrush, you smear the bacteria around. I was just saying how I want to go to the drug store to get a tongue scrapper and now I have one. Perfect timing!"
Keegan-Michael Key ('MadTV'): "Hygiene is the most important thing in the world. I've been using DenTek products for a long time. If you have a great smile, you can go places in the world."
Ted McGinley ('Married with Children', 'Dancing with the Stars'): "We have 14 and 11-year-old sons. We keep these next to our beds. They both use them every single night."
Adrianne Curry ('America's Next Top Model', 'My Fair Brady'): "I recently had two root canals and one of them I almost lost my tooth. So yeah, this is a lot cheaper. Take care of your teeth people."
Piers Morgan ('America's Got Talent', 'Celebrity Apprentice'): "The one thing I learned about America is you can't come over here as a Brit and not get your teeth done."
