Social platform where people play games with celebrities sees user engagement numbers comparable to Pinterest, Tumblr

Emerging from a very successful private launch, Face The Fans announces the highly anticipated launch of its public beta.

During private launch, select people played and competed in the first Celebrity Challenge, which was hosted by celebrity Tribble Reese, star of ‘Sweet Home Alabama’. While plenty of companies capitalize on licensing a celebrity’s brand and build a game or app around it, Face The Fans created a social engagement platform that allows anyone to play with real-life celebrities.

”It was exciting to play a game with cool people who like my work, even though I got my butt kicked,” laughed Tribble Reese. “Face The Fans made it really simple to interact with everyone in ‘The Agency’, which was actually a little addicting!!”

In ‘The Agency’, the first game on Face The Fans’ platform, players have the opportunity to run a virtual talent agency of stars and compete against a celebrity’s virtual agency. Players ‘Recruit’ their stars and can earn points in real-time, based on news articles written about their stars. They can also send their stars on virtual ‘Gigs’ and even ‘Coddle’ them, if necessary.

Face The Fans created their platform in HTML5, giving them the benefit of working on all mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) and computer systems. By choosing the ubiquity and mobility afforded by HTML5, the company increases the size of their potential audience and lets users interact with celebrities, without being tied to a computer.

“Incredibly, our average user engagement is more than 128 minutes a month, which is comparable to Tumblr or Pinterest,” said Dean Gebert, CEO of Face The Fans. “We’re honored that people like what Face The Fans has created and we’re looking forward to the next Celebrity Challenge with Chilli, from music sensation TLC, on July 11.”

With dozens of celebrities signed and many more in the works, Face The Fans plans to launch 4 more games and apps by year-end. Every title on their social engagement platform will enable celebrities to... Face The Fans!!
