Children have headed back to school equipped with the latest and greatest clothes, computers and school supplies to kick-off the year. Now, it’s the adult’s turn to upgrade.

After Apple’s announcement last week, many are anticipating the opportunity to purchase the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple confirmed a record 4 million pre-orders for the new devices.

Those interested in the newest iPhones can benefit from Cell Phones For Soldiers iPhone buyback program, a fundraising initiative that allows supporters to sell an old iPhone and generate valuable funds to support Cell Phones For Soldier’s mission.

Through this program, supporters can receive payment for the device, donate up to 100 percent of the phone’s value to Cell Phones For Soldiers and receive a tax-deductible receipt.

“This is a win-win for both the charity and supporters,” said Robbie Bergquist, co-founder of Cell Phones For Soldiers. “Those interested in the most up-to-date technology can sell their unwanted iPhone to the charity, provide them with funds to purchase the next phone and allow us to provide a lifeline for America’s bravest.”

Supporters can view the list of estimated values of iPhones from the Cell Phones For Soldiers’ website - http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/buyback. Once basic contact information is provided online, a prepaid envelope is immediately shipped.

Since 2004, the organization serving troops and veterans has accepted donations of gently-used cellphones, along with monetary donations, to support its programs. In 10 years, Cell Phones For Soldiers has contributed more than 210 million minutes of free talk time to troops and supported more than 2,500 veterans. In addition, more than 11.3 million cellphones have been kept out of landfills.
