With Hellofun, we wanted to allow our mobile community to celebrate the holidays together and capture that sense of wonder you felt as a kid when you got that special candy
NEW YORK (PRWEB) October 24, 2007
Starting today, users will find a link on their homepage that invites them to "Celebrate Hellofun." Users then decorate their homepages with Halloween imagery, choose frightfully clever costumes for their avatars, and compete in both giving and getting tricks and treats.
"With Hellofun, we wanted to allow our mobile community to celebrate the holidays together and capture that sense of wonder you felt as a kid when you got that special candy," said Arthur Goikhman, Cellufun's CEO. "So we created a whole concept of visiting each other's mobile profiles, standing in line and trick-or-treating, creating suspense about what you're actually going to get. Costumes matter, too - a poorly matching costume might get a rock, or a trick, a well conceived one a chocolate."
Users line up in the dozens at various homepages, and a "these homes are happening" list creates trick-or-treating frenzies at the homepages of the most generous givers. Users must remember to come back home and give out goods as well, or the rumor about their stinginess would quickly spread, and they may find only tricks in their bags. Being generous is not all that easy, either - users must purchase the treats that they give out using their Cellupoints.
True to the spirit of the holiday, Hellofun contest winners will be announced on the night of October 31st, at midnight. Prizes will be awarded to the most generous players, and those accumulating the most treat and tricks. Cellufun will also run two scavenger hunts related to the event: the first to give a treat to every costume type and the first to go online at every decorative banner type will win a frighteningly good prize. Finally, there will be trophies awarded for each scavenger hunt and for giving out the most treats.
